1. Shutter speed is measured in seconds, but often marked as reciprocal.
2. Slow shutter speed are often used in low light conditions, extending the time until the shutter closes, and increasing the amount of light allowed through.
3. Very fast shutter speeds are used to freeze movign objects, very slow shutter speeds usually blur moving objects.
